AN ORCHESTRA TOUR OF CASTLES AND PALACES

"An Orchestra Tour of Castles and Palaces" is a series of concerts implemented since 2012 by Przemysław Ślusarczyk, an Opole-based composer, conductor, and cultural animator and the originator of the innovative first actions of this kind: "Opolski Ekspres Dęty" (The Opole Wind Instrument Express), which was held with great success for the first time in 2010, and its continuation "Z orkiestrą po Odrze" (An Orchestra Tour on the Oder), initiated in 2012.

The Opole Regional Tourist Organisation (OROT) is a partner of the campaign. The idea behind the series is to promote the region as a land of castles and palaces, as well as sightseeing tourism, alternative cultural activities and traveling beyond the borders of the Opolskie Voivodship in search of interesting places. The concerts are performed by the el12 Opole Politechnic Band, composed of musicians from the Opole University of Technology Orchestra, the ZSE Brass Band in Opole and the Grudzice Brass Band, under the direction of the event originator and the el12 Opole Politechnic Band - Generacja

2.0 – a septet performing multi-style music ranging from pop to jazz and jazz improvisation.

In 2013, the Opole University of Technology was awarded an honourable mention in the Competition for

the Best Tourist Product OROT Certificate for: “Time for the orchestra – the Opole Wind Instrument Express”, “An Orchestra Tour on the Oder”, “An Orchestra Tour of Castles and Palaces”, for “Consistent and effective promotion of the university and the region through cultural events”.
