VOIVODESHIP FESTIVAL OF OPOLE CARP

The Voivodeship Festival of Opole Carp, organised since 2011 by the Local Fishing Action Group "Opolszczyzna", aims to promote fishing and showcase the tourist, natural and economic potential of fish ponds. The event is held in a different location each year, and its main attraction is, of course, carp. For several days, you can taste a variety of fish dishes, buy fresh carp, take part in numerous demonstrations, workshops and culinary competitions. Special attractions are arranged for children, as well as artistic performances,

cooking demonstrations, animations, dietary advice, fishing competitions, and nature education, along with numerous stands run by local producers and craftspeople.

This is the only event showcasing fish farming in the Opole region and offering visitors the opportunity to taste local fish in a variety of dishes. The event features exhibitors from the catering and tourism sectors. In an era of growing awareness about healthy eating, consuming local fish (farmed in line with the slow food concept) is becoming increasingly popular. In addition, local carp from Niemodlin is included in the Ministry of Agriculture's list of traditional products.

The event has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Opole Brand award and the award in the Competition for the Best Tourist Product of the Opole Voivodship – the 2016 OROT Certificate in the event category.
