NYSA FORTRESS DAYS

This colourful historical show featuring soldiers and sutlers is a traditional event, with a grand battle at the forts, commemorating Napoleon's army's siege of Nysain in 1807. Late July each year, Nysa transforms into a battlefield – not only for the Nysa Fortress but also for the Naval Battle on Nyskie Lake, commemorating the battle of the San Domingo Legions in the Blue Bay in Głębinów. Historical shows of old military fashion and camp life, dances with soldiers, and reconstruction workshops are held here. There is also an impressive military parade through the city streets, a parade drill, and Night Fire Manoeuvres.

The event received the prize in the Competition for the Best Tourist Product – OROT Certificate 2009, as well as a Certificate of the Polish Tourist Organisation in a nationwide competition.
