BREEDING APIARY IN MACIEJÓW

Operating since the 1970s, the Maciejów apiary is the legacy of the world-renowned scientist, biologist and beekeeper, Rev. Dr Jan Dzierżoń, known as the "Copernicus of the hive". He spent the last years of his life in the manor house located on the premises. The apiary represents decades of beekeeping tradition and the production of various bee products. Today, it is also a major tourist attraction. Beekeeping, nature studies and local handicraft classes are organized here. Visitors can observe the workings of the breeding apiary, use apiinhalers (a healthy experience in the hive, close to the bees) and purchase Maciejów's renowned honey and other bee delicacies.
