TRITON FOUNTAIN IN NYSA
The fountain is made of Sławonice marble. It was constructed in the early 18th century during the reign of Bishop Franz Ludwig von Neuburg. It was a symbol of prosperous and peaceful times for the city under Austrian rule, as symbolised by Triton blowing his horn of plenty in the presence of dolphins facing the four corners of the world. The fountain features a coat of arms with the inscription SPQN and the date 1701.
