NIWKI FIRE STATION
The grand opening of the renovated fire station building in Niwki took place on 9 October 2021.
Niwki is a small town, very popular among cyclists. The town is home to a 1894 building called "Mazurek", located at the intersection of Wiejska and Turawska
Streets. It is a restored former fire station with interesting furnishings.
The starting point for establishing a fire station in Niwki was a historic horse-drawn fire engine from the first half of the last century, donated by firefighters from the Berlin district of Tempelhof. Indeed, the German name of the village of Niwki is also "Tempelhof".
While the fire engine is the most interesting part of the exhibition, the fire station also houses other equipment dating back decades, such as a motor pump and a telephone. The exhibition also features uniforms and old information boards.
