GAS INDUSTRY MUSEUM IN PACZKÓW
Housed in the city's historic 1902 gasworks, the Gas Industry Museum is unique on a European scale. The impressive 1,000 m² exhibition features a unique collection of gas meters, lamps and wall lamps, household appliances and industrial equipment, which is the largest of its kind in Europe. Visitors to the Museum can admire such items as gas meters manufactured between the 19th century and the present day, old cast-iron gas lamps, refrigerators, irons, fireplaces, portable gas stoves and a beautiful coffee roaster. Despite their age, most of the exhibits are still in working order. Also noteworthy is the collection of documentation on old classic Polish gasworks and a selection of posters related to the promotion of gas and gas-powered appliances. The complex is a modern museum, exhibition and training centre, combining tradition and modernity. Its newly constructed pavilion features a conference room and four comfortable guest rooms. The museum is a major highlight among Polish and European technological monuments.
