COUNTY MUSEUM IN NYSA
The oldest cultural institution in the Opole region, established in 1897. Located in the historic Palace of the Bishops of Wrocław, the museum features a rich collection of paintings, graphics and sculpture. The gallery of Western European paintings from the 16th to 19th centuries, featuring works by outstanding Dutch, Flemish, German and Italian artists, is particularly valuable. The extensive collection also includes art and crafts from the 16th to 19th centuries, including an impressive collection of bourgeois and court furniture, as well as porcelain from Meißen and Sèvres. The permanent exhibition also includes exhibitions dedicated to the history of the Nysa region, military history, Nysa arts and crafts, and municipal memorabilia. The permanent exhibition also includes an exhibition called Witchcraft Trials on the Nysa-Jeseník Borderland,
which is an attempt to present and define, both historically and visually, one of the most grim crimes in the history of the Duchy of Nysa, which has been almost completely ignored and overlooked until now.
