GŁĘBINÓW
Głębinów is a small tourist-recreational village located on the shore of Nysa Lake, not far from Nysa. The history of the village begins in the Middle Ages, and the first mention of it appears in 1300 as part of the emoluments of the Bishopric of Wrocław. In the first half of the 16th century, the village, along with the entire region, came under the Habsburg rule, and in the 18th century - under the Prussian rule. The biggest changes, which affected the character of Głębinowo and almost led to the the whole village ceasing to be, took place in 1965, when the construction of a storage reservoir - Nysa Lake - began. By virtue of the decisions made, a significant part of the population was displaced, and almost half of the village at that time was submerged under the waters of the new reservoir. It is worth noting the Church of St. Urban, which recently became the Sanctuary of St. Rita. The cult of St. Rita makes the place famous throughout Poland and gives a new impetus for the development of Głębinowo. Because of its natural and scenic assets, Głębinów is extremely popular, not only in the summer season. There is no shortage of well-developed accommodation and catering services here. The proximity of Nysa is an additional advantage of Głębinowo which is a good base for exploring the surrounding area. In Głębinowo there is also the modern "Rybak" ("Fisherman") Resort, run by the Diocese of Opole.
