REŃSKA WIEŚ
This picturesque village is situated not far from Kędzierzyn-Koźle and is currently the seat of the municipality. The first mentions of Reńska Wieś (Villa Rynensis) appear as early as the second half of the 13th century. It was part of the Koźle castle domain. In 1807,
Reńska Wieś became the arena of the battle and siege of the Koźle Fortress by Napoleonic forces. In honour of the Bavarian soldiers who died during the siege, the so-called Bavarian chapel was erected in Reńska Wieś. It was reconstructed in 2004.
The 19th century was a time of exceptional development for the village and the entire region. A sugar refinery and a brewery (which operated until 1945) were established in Reńska Wieś. Today, one of the best "Szlakiem Kolejowym" bicycle paths, following the old railroad route, runs through the village. Nearby in Dębowa, by the water reservoir of the same name, you will find a bathing area and a beach - perfect places for recreation and rest in nature. Moreover, it is worth visiting the Jewish Cemetery in Dębowa.
The history of the cemetery is connected with the pre-war history of the Jewish community in Kędzierzyn-Koźle and the surrounding area.
