ST. ANNE MOUNTAIN

The village is situated partly on the slope of the mountain of the same name, on which mountain proudly stand the monastery complex, the basilica, the calvary, and a Marian grotto modelled on the famous grotto in Lourdes. However, the "Spiritual Capital of Silesia" is not only a pilgrimage site, but also a good place for exploring the area. The village itself is closely linked to the fighting that took place during the Silesian Uprisings. Their history is worth learning about at the local Museum of Silesian Uprisings which is one of the branches of the Museum of Opole Silesia in Opole. The numerous walking and biking trails and educational paths in the St. Anne Mountain Landscape Park located here and in one of the country's three Geoparks of the same name attract crowds of tourists and pilgrims. The St. Anne Mountain village is also the site of frequent excursions by the region's residents who spend their free time here, relaxing in nature and admiring the extraordinary views of the area. Moreover, here you can see one of the largest rock amphitheatres in Europe, built in

the 1930s, and the Museum of the Holy Cross with its numerous collections of religious art.
