IZBICKO PALACE

The origins of Izbicko Palace date back to the 16th century. However, a fire in 1812 caused such severe damage that the residence was completely rebuilt in a Classicist style. A subsequent fire during the Third Silesian Uprising led to a further renovation, this time in the Norman style. Following the Second World War, between 1952 and 1984, the building housed the State Agricultural School. Renovations attempted after 1984 unfortunately ended in failure and resulted in the loss of the palace’s historic furnishings. Today, Izbicko Palace is privately owned and operates as a hotel. Together with its surrounding park, it forms a stunning architectural and natural complex.

Interestingly, the palace hosted a summit of the Visegrád Group representatives in 2011. While the interiors are currently closed to the general public (accessible only to hotel guests), the exterior is well worth admiring, as the palace remains a true gem of the Izbicko municipality.
