RUINS OF THE CASTLE IN UJAZD

The medieval castle of the Bishops of Wrocław was erected here at the beginning of the 13th century. Throughout its history, it was expanded and changed ownership numerous times. Its final owners, the Hohenlohe family, rebuilt it into a Baroque-Mannerist palace. The structure survived for centuries until 1945, when the advancing Red Army set fire to most of Ujazd’s buildings, including the castle. Only its picturesque ruins remain today; recently secured and made accessible to

visitors, they offer a beautiful panorama of the surrounding area.
