OPOLE - THE CAPITAL OF POLISH SONG

Opole is one of the oldest cities in Poland, with more than 800 years of history. It is known both in the country and abroad first of all for its National Festival of Polish Song, held here since 1963 and inseparably linked to the Millennium Amphitheatre and the Piast Tower, a background character in all festival performances. No matter the season, the city delights with its inimitable atmosphere, architecture, and the hospitality of its residents. While in Opole, you must see: the Cathedral, the Upper Castle, and the University Hill. It is worth visiting the local museums: the one and only Museum of Polish Song which has chosen the Millennium Amphitheatre as its headquarters, the Museum of Opole Silesia with the fascinating Tenement House, and the Opole Rural Museum. On your walk, you cannot miss the "green lungs" of Opole, that is the Bolko Island with its zoo. Among the many attractions of Opole, it is precisely the Zoological Garden, established in the 1930s and situated on the Bolko Island near to the centre, which deserves a special mention.

Tigers, lions, giraffes, gorillas, eared seals - all those animals and many more can be seen in the Opole Zoo. Interestingly arranged, large animal enclosures, a broad educational offer, playgrounds, a mini rope park - all this,

surrounded by luscious greenery, creates an incredible atmosphere, appreciated widely both by residents of Opole and by tourists. It is also worth stopping by the Opole Venice.

A boat cruise on the Oder and the Młynówka will provide unforgettable experiences. Opole offers many recreational opportunities, combining cultural heritage with gorgeous nature.
