STANISZCZE WIELKIE DRAISINE RAILWAY

The Staniszcze Wielkie Draisine Railway is the first attraction of its kind in the Opole Voivodeship. The railway operates on an inactive railway track no. 175 in Staniszcze Wielkie. The service already has five certified draisines ready to run, and the owners plan to purchase more. The vehicles are pedal-powered. Each accommodates 5 to 8 people.

At the moment, the full Staniszcze Wielkie Draisine Railway route is around 6 km long, but it may be extended in the future. It begins and ends at the railroad station in Staniszcze Wielkie. The route runs through a gully in one direction, and in the the other on a railway embankment, where the Mała Panew river is reached; a unique fully riveted metal bridge can be seen there. When the end of the track is reached, you can turn the draisine 180 degrees and go back to the starting-line. It is possible for one person to turn the draisine to go in the opposite direction.

The lilliputian train is a lot of fun for children: it lets them feel like the driver of a real train for a little while. The driver can stop the train and adjust the speed themselves.

The Staniszcze Wielkie Draisine Railway received a distinction in the Competition for the Best Tourist Product of the Opole Voivodeship OROT Certificate 2022!
