EKOSTUDIO THEATRE IN OPOLE

The Ekostudio Theatre was founded in 1999. Its founder is Andrzej Czernik – actor, director, screenwriter and producer. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, among others, the Golden Mask – for directing and adapting Władysław Reymont's "Chłopi" (The Peasants); the Silver Laurel of Skills and Competence; the Opoliensi Arte Laureato – the Marshal of the Opole Voivodeship Award; the Decoration for Merits to the City of Opole; the Decoration for Merits to the Opole Voivodeship; the Merit to Polish Culture Decoration; and the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.

In 1999, the theatre participated in the 3rd Festival of Christian Culture in Łódź. A year later, it participated in the 25th Opole Theatre Confrontations "Polish Classics 2000." The first play to be performed at the theater was "Pilate," which the company took to New York (USA) in 2001.

In 2000, the theater was one of the first in Poland to stage the entire play "The Wedding" by Stanisław Wyspiański outdoors at the Opole Rural Museum in Opole, and in 2002-2003, "The Peasants" by Władysław Reymont. These were truly impressive performances. The theater also presented plays connected to the history and culture of the region ("Nicholas II, or the Story of the Death of the Opole Prince," "The Arrival of King Casimir to Opole"). Mark Twain's "Memoirs of Adam and Eve", and "Live at All Costs" was performed at the Central Prisoners of War Museum in Łambinowice-Opole. Since 2008, the theater has organized exhibitions called "Winter Forest of Art," during which audiences can compare the art of young artists with works by renowned artists. The

Ekostudio Theatre also offers a regular repertoire of children's fairy tales and classic plays. It also produces television programs ("Neighborly Conversations" for TVP 3 Opole) and directs the film "Attention, This Is Gliwice!"

As the Ekostudio Theatre is a private initiative, its performances are very intimate, creating a unique atmosphere that fosters close relationships with audiences. EkoStudio is a unique place on the cultural map of Opole.
