OPOLE PUPPET AND ACTOR THEATER IN OPOLE

The Opole Puppet and Actor Theater is one of the oldest puppet theaters in Poland. It was founded in 1937 by Alojzy Smolka and from the very beginning was a meeting place for many outstanding artists. Today, it is considered one of the best puppet theaters in Poland and is appreciated by critics and audiences throughout the country for its performances for children, young people and adults.

The theater's management is open to broad international cooperation and introduces numerous artistic, social and educational projects that enable artists to meet audiences of all ages, attracting young and old viewers from Poland and abroad to the theater.

Performances created on the Opole puppet stage receive numerous awards at festivals and are presented during the most important national theater events. OTLiA has shown its performances in many places around the world, including Germany, Finland, the former Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Sweden, Israel, Spain, the United States and Egypt.

Since 1962, the theater has been organizing the National Puppet Theater Festival – a unique review and confrontation of the most interesting phenomena in contemporary theater. This event attracts interesting artists to the city, allows you to see the level of domestic puppetry, but at the same time is a colorful theatrical celebration for all Opole residents.

In 2014, the theater building gained a new structure - the modern space was adapted to the artistic challenges and needs of future generations of viewers.
