SILVER LAKE IN OSOWIEC
The Silver Lake, also known as the Emerald Lake, is one of the most popular holiday destinations for residents of Opole and the surrounding areas. It is located near the village of Osowiec near Turawa. The lake was created as a result of gravel being picked to fortify the embankments of the Large Turawa Lake. It covers 12 hectares and reaches a depth of 10 metres, though in some places it is as deep as 17 metres. The lake's undeniable appeal lies in its crystal-clear water and interesting location in the middle of a forest. The lake is surrounded by the Stobrawa-Turawa forest complex.
Admission to the bathing area is free of charge. However, fees are charged for parking, camping, tent pitches, and access to electricity.
A sandy beach, a playground and a beach volleyball court are located on the southern shore of the lake. There is also a restaurantand several food trucks selling ice cream, waffles, and fast food. Guests can hire kayaks and pedal boats. The lake is well stocked with fish, including carp, tench, pike, roach and perch. After paying a special fee (no fishing licence required), you can go fishing. The site has sanitary facilities with showers and toilets.
It is an ideal location for fishing, photography, and a break from the urban noise. There are also club music events in the evenings. In August, the incredible Silver Lake Festival for fans of electronic, trance and techno music. In addition to music, the festival features numerous workshops and art stands.
