CYCLING TRAIL AROUND NYSA LAKE

The most popular cycling route in the Nysa area runs around Nysa Lake. It is an easy route with a length of approximately 30–35 km. Cycling time: about 2–3 hours.

The trail starts at the Market Square in Nysa. If you have time, it is worth seeing the attractions located almost along the way, such as the Basilica of St. James and St. Agnes, the Beautiful

Well, the Triton Fountain, and the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. Otherwise, we head straight to Zamłynie and from there make our way to the lake dam, which forms a beautiful 5-km-long asphalt road. The route is exceptionally scenic. In good weather, you can see the Sudetes mountain range and the Czech Jeseniky Mountains We cross the dam to reach Biała Nyska. After descending from the lake embankment, we turn right towards Siestrzechowice. However, if we want to see the historic gate in Biała Nyska - the only remaining part of the former palace, and the reconciliation (penitential) cross located on the church grounds, we should continue straight along the gravel path through the park.

In Siestrzechowice, it is worth seeing the ruins of the palace. The chapel with coats of arms is particularly noteworthy. Opposite the palace there is a former mill. From Siestrzechowice, we head towards Otmuchów. Here we have two options to choose from. The first option is to continue along the embankment road all the way to Otmuchów. The second option is to take the asphalt road through Kwiatków and Buków to Kałków, where there is a Romanesque-Gothic church dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Next, we head to Zwierzyniec, where we can see a former Baroque hunting lodge with a circular shape. It is currently privately owned. From Zwierzyniec, via Śliwice, we reach Otmuchów. The main attraction of Otmuchów is the castle, which can be visited. From there, we head towards Wójcice (now part of Otmuchów), and from there, following the blue Copernicus Trail, we ride to Głębinow, where the Sanctuary of St. Rita is located. The northern shore of the lake, including Głębinow and Skorochów, consists of typically tourist-oriented towns. In the so-called Nysa Riviera, you will find numerous holiday resorts, restaurants, bars, and other dining facilities. There are also designated bathing areas with lifeguards, camping and tent sites, and rental services for recreational equipment. It is also possible to take a cruise on the Gracja boat. Every year, the Water and Fire Festival is held at Nysa Lake. It is the most spectacular event in the region and attracts large crowds of spectators.
